ide Systems received an enquiry from an electrical contractor from the mid east of England as no other electrical switchboard manufacturer could fulfil their requirement. Their issue was one of the deadlines they had to meet and they did not have the correct product to facilitate their needs. Two manual changeover systems, 2500A & 1600A, were to be designed and built with definate enclosure size restrictions. The first within five days and the second four days later, so necessary work could be carried out at a local school to prepare for the forthcoming term.
Due to time constraints, limited design procedure could be carried out. The manual changeovers were specified and the enclosures picked to fit the specific maximum dimensions. The copper busbar ratings were calculated and the busbar lamination’s required to fit within the enclosure while maintaining separation sort. Again due to time constraints, a basic busbar layout was drawn and all the information given to manufacturing.
ide Systems experienced manufacturing team revelled in the opportunity to manufacture a switchboard to 17th edition standards using their own experience and skill. Stage photos were asked for by the client to aid with anticipation of their own cable routing. The end product was completed fit to purpose and after testing and certifying, personally couriered direct to the customer to meet their time frame.
The second changeover allowed us a bit more time and with the experience of the previous unit, we made sure everything was of the same layout.
Both 2500A and 1600A Manual Changeovers were manufactured, tested and couriered to the client allowing them to carry out their work as contracted. This lead to further works being carried out and completed, allowing the school to be opened on time for the new term.
